Elephant census concludes in Manas

The Manas National park and Manas Tiger project authority conducted a census on elephants within the park recently. Director of Manas Tiger project Aninda Swargiary, informed that 1025 elephants were found in an area stretching 500 km and known to be the natural habitat of this pachyderm in Bansbari, Parbari and Bhyanpararanges. In the Bhuyanpara range 525 elephants were found. Among the beats there are 13 in Ruphai, 33 in Makhibaha, 84 in Karoibari, 74 in Agrang, 72 in Doulbil and 63 in Shatarupa beat. Sources said that beat wise attendance is
