The dense natural forests of Gudalur area in the Nilgiris are in peril, due to the activities of encroachers, said Mr. T.L. Kundan, president of the Tamil Nadu Forest Officials Association(TNFOA), Gudalur Chapter, in a statement at Gudalur on Monday. He cautioned that if action was not taken forthwith to sternly deal with the encroachers the forests in and around Gudalur would eventually become part of history.
