The Himachal Pradesh Government has decided to come down heavily on the encroachment mafia in Himachal Pradesh with immediate effect. Talking to mediapersons, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, reiterated that strict action would be taken against encroachers and officials who had acted in connivance with them. Mr Singh said there would be no compromise with encroachers in the forest land of the State and particularly Shimla. The drive against encroachments would, however, be handled "with a human face" sparing the genuine cases and removing the encroachment mafia.
