The Malabar Eco-cultural Association has demanded that the report submitted by the Commission headed by C. N. Ramachandran Nair that studied the feasibility of setting up a tribunal to compensate the endosulfan victims be rejected in toto . The Kasaragod-based Association said on Sunday that the recommendation of the Commission for a single-judge tribunal with limited powers to identify victims and adjudicate compensation without any liability to Plantation Corporation of Kerala and pesticide companies was a ridiculous negation of human rights and natural justice. The executive committee of the Association said that compensation was a right and not a matter of sympathy. — Roy Mathew
