Environmental clearance for bridge over sea

After nearly two decades of waiting, Mumbai is to get a new bridge over the sea which will help reduce the North-South vehicular trafic congensiton. It has been proposed to later extend the Bandra-Worli sea link to Nariman Point.Environmental clearance has been accorded to the project, now estimated to cost Rs 400 crores.The State Government which strived hard to implement the project, succeeded in its seventh attempt and got the approval of the Ministry of Environment.
