PUDUCHERRY: The construction of a fishing harbour at Yanam has received clearance from the State-Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Department of Science, Technology and Environment (DSTE), Union Territory of Puducherry.
An official of the Fisheries Department said that following the environmental clearance, the Public Works Department (PWD) has prepared an estimate of Rs. 20.05 crore, for the implementation of the Centrally-sponsored project, based on the Puducherry Schedule of Rates.
The estimate has been sent to the Union government, which has recommended the preparation of a Techno-Economic Feasibility Report (TEFR) by the Central Institute of Coastal Engineering for Fisheries before funds are released, the official said.
