- EPA offers technology to recover chrome from tannery effluents

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has offered technology to recover chrome from tannery effluents . The chrome residue in effluents escapes treatments facilities currently available in the country and has been a major problem for the industry and monitoring agencies. The American agency has given the engineering details to the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board and the Central Leather Research Institute, according to M Devaraj, TNPCB Chairman.
