The European Union is to clamp down on ozone pollution - the main component of smog which can be lethal to severe asthma sufferers - under new rules passed by the European Parliament. The EU assembly formally adopted a law which will require countries to ensure ozone levels do not exceed World Health Organisation (WHO) standards more than 25 times a year.
