The four reserve forests within Golaghat district of Assam are Diphu reserve forest, South Numbar, Rengma and Doyang which are situated on the Nagaland border. Nagaland encroached large areas of the four reserve forests. The government of Assam with the strength of Supreme Court verdict began to continue eviction operation in the reserve forest areas and cleared encroached lands by dismentally houses of the people of the border areas.
