Rare animals, the pride of any zoo, are fast disappearing in Delhi. In the past three years, five royal Bengal tigers, eight chinkaras, two lion tailed macaques and two swamp deers have died. Disease, official indifference and negligence are some reasons why the number of animals is steadily coming down. Last year, 136 animals out of the total 1,200 died.
