: The unabating ban on regular deforestation since 1992 and an inadvertent delay in enforcing a new forest policy is causing a colossal loss to the already exterminated forests in Malakand, Peshawar (Pakistan) which has 25 per cent of the total forest covered area in the province. The ban enforcement remains a technical affair as illegal felling of trees has not stopped during this period.
