Experts praise performance of Kota power plant

A team of foreign experts has praised the performance of Kota Super Thermal Power Station in Rajasthan after studying its plant load factor, environment protection, modernisation and utilisation of fuel. The 75-member team, constituted under the Asia-Pacific Partnership, observed the plant over the weekend from the perspective of "clean functioning' and described its performance as remarkable. A spokesperson of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam said here that the team comprised experts from the U.S., Australia, China, Japan, South Korea and Canada. From India, representatives of the Central Electricity Authority and National Thermal Power Corporation accompanied the team. The team was especially impressed by the development of a green belt on the plant premises and measures taken to minimise emission of greenhouse gases. The experts were also apprised of the steps for modernisation and adoption of techniques for improving power production in future. The spokesperson pointed out that the plant load factor of the project was maintained around 90 points against the national average of 76.80 points.
