The Environment and forests ministry has rushed a team of experts to help the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh to combat forest fires in the Garhwal-Kumaon-Himachal range. The ministry has also provided assistance to the tune of Rs 40 lakh. Environment and forests minister Suresh Prabhu said the ministry had provided funds and expertise by way of help to the state governments.
