As opposed to the demand of the 5.4 metric cubic metre of water per day in the Capital, Delhi Jal Board manages to supply only 2.61 MCM of water. The huge gap between the demand and supply leads to people resorting to other measures to fulfil their requirements. One among them is the use of ground water, which though banned by the government, is rampant.
