Farm tourism: hotel owners cross fingers

After a good response to highway tourism introduced in Haryana a decade ago for the first time in the country, the state now again was trying to focus on farm tourism, which earlier failed to take off in mid 1990s. However, the Hotel and Restaurant Association here has been keeping its fingers crossed on its success. It is hoped foreign and middle and upper class will attract domestic tourists to experience beauty of rural life and agricultural practices. To promote farm tourism, the Tourism Department of the state will promote package tours to farmhouses located near Delhi
