Hundreds of farmers from across Mysore district in Karnataka pledged to use water judiciously, particulary for irrigation. Speaking after inaugurating a workshop on water conservation organised by the Cauvery Niravari Nigam here on Saturday, Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaih called said that although farmers in the State were aware of agriculture and irrigation, there is a need for creating awareness on judicious use of water and alternative crops. Stressing the need to conserve water, he felt that there would have been no conflict over water sharing between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu if water was conserved in the State.
