A farmer's union in Murad Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, is opposing the construction of the conduit pipeline of Sonia Vihar treatment plant. The union has asked the local state government to instead constructed a bridge over the Hindon river. The construction work on the raw water conveyance system in UP is being done by the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) and the pipeline will bring raw water from UP to the plant.
