The extradinary effort put in by Bangladesh to achieve near universal access to clean water seems to have backfired in large parts of the South Asian country. Villagers are staying away from tube wells in some villages in the north and west where they have gone back to drinking unclean pond water becaue of fear of arsenic poisoning.
