Andhra Pradesh state level federation of tribals was constituted with Communist Party of India national secretary A B Bardhan as the federation's first general secretary and former legislator M Budhu Chouhan as convenor of federation's steering committee. Any person, apart from those belonging to political parties, can become a member of the independent federation. The objectives of the federation are: Protecting tribals rights, prevention of encroachments of lands belonging to tribals.
