Government authorities are to
• Notify all lakes in the state and protect them

• Take urgent measures to regenerate the waterbodies

• Remove encroachments and rehabilitate slum dwellers

• Create a Water Resources Council, chaired by the chief minister, to oversee the programme for rejuvenation of all waterbodies.
