The Federation of Finnish Forest Industries said that carbon dioxide emissions of the industry's mills and own energy production in Finlandtotalled 6.1 million tonnes in 1998, up slightly on 1997. The industry also purchased electricity that had carbon dioxide emissions of 2.6 million tonnes, and the total of 8.7 percent was 14 percent of Finland's total carbon dioxide emissions, it said in a statement.
