A Rs. 2.35-crore project for induced breeding and larval rearing of lobsters will be taken up by the Tamil Nadu State Fisheries Department with financial aid from the Department of Ocean Development (DOD) at Neelankarai. The objective of the programme is to increase the production of lobster variety having export potential in natural habitats involving fishermen through sea ranching.
