The Deepar Beel-Pachpara Cooperative Society has threatened to launch vigorous stir if a ban on fishing in Deepar Beel is imposed in the name of the proposed bird sanctuary. Announcing this at a press conference held recently at Azara-Keotpara Sri Ratneswar Das and Sri Dilip Kumar Das, president and secretary respectively of the Society said that the bird sanctuary scheme would make more than 500 fishermen jobless. They appealed to the concerned authorities to reconsider the decision of setting-up of the bird sanctuary at Deepar Beel.
