The National Fishworkers' Forum has threatened to go on an indefinite agitation from May 27 to demand withdrawal of the Aquaculture Authority Bill, abandonment of the move to amend the Coastal Regulation Zone notification, cancellation of joint-lease licences and provision of a uniform monsoon trawl ban in all coastal States. The Forum chairperson, Mr. Harekrishna Debnath, and the general secretary, Mr. R.K. Patil, have also written a letter to the Prime Minister, Mr. A.B. Vajpayee, on the issues.
