Minister for environment and forests T R Baalu has called for formulating realistic resource mobilisation plans and fixing achievable targets in the foresty sector, considering the overall economic condition of the country. Inaugurating a seminar on 'India's Forests Beyond 2000' here on Wednesday, Mr Baalu stated that inadequate investment had undermined the objective of achieving 33 per cent of landmass under forest cover, envisaged in the Forest Policy of 1988.
