People living in flats will have to pay sewage cess separately from the New Year. At present, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Swerage Board is including sewage cess in the water bill of the apartment complex as a whole. This accounts for about 35 percent of the bill. However, the cash-starved board has decided that it will charge sewage cess individually on each flat to make additional revenue. This will be irrespective of the quantum of water supplied to the flat.
