Flood rescue operation by 1st bn NDRF in Agartala

Incessant rainfall since last week & rising water level of river Haora created unprecedented flood that submerged area of Agartala i.e Chandrapur Bazar & Jogindernagar District- West Tripura. This unexpected flood havoc disturbed the life of locals. A search & rescue team of 1st battalion National Disaster Response Force carried out rescue operation in the affected areas on June 19 and 20 continously. NDRF kept close watch in other affected areas . Search & Rescue Team carried out rescue operations in flood affected areas of Agartala district- West Tripura of Tripura. The NDRF team conducted rescue operation with full devotion and dedication and evacuated more than 220 marooned villagers and transported them to safer places so far. On the unexpected development of flood situation, S K Sastri, Commandant 1st NDRF, Guwahati, said in statement,” NDRF is always standby for the affected people at the time of need. People need to keep alternative system of keeping emergency medicines, dry food & water for at least one week, in low lying area till the problem is completely eradicated.” This was stated in a press release.
