The State Government has been taking all necessary steps to provide relief to the people in flood-hit areas, rescue marooned fishermen and prevent spread of water-borne diseases, Chief Secretary L.K. Tripathy has said. Shortly after holding discussions with officials, he told reporters here on Sunday that floods had claimed 35 lives. According to preliminary police report, the death of three persons who were travelling in a car on G.N.Chetty Road here on Saturday night was caused by suffocation due to a mechanical problem. The case was being investigated.
