Floods on different rivers in Kanchanpur displace more than 600 families

Floods on different rivers in Kanchanpur district have displaced more than 600 families. An arrangement of accommodation to the displaced families has been made at nearby schools. According to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, the families were displaced due to floods on Mahakali, Jogbudha and Dida rivers following the incessant rainfall for the past four days. A total of 150 households of Dodhara Ward No 8 and 9 were displaced by flood on Mahakali and Jogbudha rivers. The flood affected families have been taking shelter at Ambika Higher Secondary School. Similarly, 50 flood affected families of Bhimdutta Municipality-10 were rescued and they are taking shelter at Mahakali Lower Secondary School, Tumdani, said Superintendent of Police, Rajendra Prasad Chaudhary. Likewise, other displaced families are taking shelter at different schools and community forest. Chaudhary said that more than 600 houses of Bhimdutta Municipality-4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 15, 18 and 19, Jhapur of Suda, Sarkitole of Daiji and Kunda of Laxmipur have been waterlogged. RSS
