The city's transport system could be in for a dramatic change if the Konkan Railway manages to impress the Tamil Nadu Government with it unique, indigenous, yet untested, technology for a quicker and effective mode of public transport for Chennai. Called the Skybus System, the first such in the world, it woudl resemble Chennai's very own MRTS, but the 'buses' would hang from an elevated structure instead of running on top of it.
