Forest Minister K. Sudhakaran on Wednesday told the Assembly that the Kerala Forest (Vesting and Management of Ecologically Fragile Lands) Bill would be made law in the current Assembly session. Replying to questions, he said that under the Forest ordinance the Government had acquired a total of 11037 hectares of forest land from the possession of some private parties. Of this, 10,554.8 hectares were acquired during the last LDF rule and the rest by the present UDF Government.
