Forest cover in Uttar Pradesh was still far below the expected level and progress percentage, minimal, remarked Governor Vishnu Kant Shastri on World Forestry Day at a function in Lucknow. The Governor linked urban lifestyle and narrowmindedness of the urban populace with the fast dwindling forest cover in cities and observed that it could be one of the reasons for unrest in the society.
