The Forest officials of Nagaon have been conducting surprised raids in illegal saw mills in Nagaon and has intensified its drive against timber smugglers. Aflabuddin Ahmed, DFO Nagaon told the sentinel correspondent recently in the recently conducted raid that two such illegal saw mills were detected at Dhing and Doomdooma and has been sealed. It may be mentioned that a group of forest staff led by the DFO himself have detected 11 illegal Bannedsaw mills in different places of the district recently and have registered cases against those saw mills. The DFO assured that to stop timber smuggling of timber and illegal felling of trees in the district raids such as these will continue. The DFO urged the people to extend its cooperation in the detection of illegal saw mills.
