Keeping in view the incidents of felling of green deodar saplings on the occasion of Merry Christmas eve for the purpose of Christmas tree for a couple of years in several hotels at the tourist town of Manali, the Department of Forest kept a strict vigil on the cutting of evergreen deodars during the Christmas.
