It is learnt that the forest fire that occurred in the reserve forest area of Kallur hills in Karnataka has not been extinguished yet. The fire had been engulfing the scrubbed forest and efforts to extinguish the fire by forest officials with the help of Girijan tribals is still on, but not much success has been achieved till now. Sources say that the fire brigade has not been able to reach the place yet. The fire might spread to the coffee estates besides the forest, localites fear. This means that the coffee estates are under real threat if the fire is not contained immediately.
