Forest fires which flared up suddenly in the Bageri and Adinaduru forests in Karnataka coming under the Nidtha Reserve Forest Range in Somwarpet taluk, were brought under control today. Officials say animals like the hare, snakes, jungle fowl perished in the fires. Wild elephants and deer, found in fairly large numbers in the area, have moved away to other forest areas.
