Forest fires spreading haze across Southeast Asia

Residents of Indonesia's third largest city have been asked to stay indoors as smoke from blazing forests blankets Medan, spreading as far east as Singapore and the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur.The city's health department has announced the carbon monoxide is above normal and they suggested people not go out unless necessary, Soangkupon Siregar, the head of the Medan Environmental Impact Control Office, said.
