Malaysia will monitor forest fires in the Asean region in efforts to prevent the recurrence of haze. Department of Environment director-general Rosnani Ibarahim said the region would be monitored either by satellite or ground surveillance to detect forest fires early. "We are emphasising on preventive measures to prevent large-scale fires," she said.
