The World Bank has sanctioned a soft loan of Rs 300 crore to the Chattisgarh government for non-destructive forest management in the new state. The soft loan, involving a grant of 30 per cent, will be disbursed over a period of five years. The state cabinet has expressed happiness over the Bank's approval of its people-oriented forest policy.
