The illegal uprooting of Typha grass, the most important habitat for Swamp Deer, by the mafias continues unabetted in the Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary, despite all efforts by the Forest Department. However reacting to this Mr R P Bharti, the Divisional Forest Officer, has suspended a forest guard found responsible for promoting illegal uprooting.
