The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Karnataka has passed serious remarks against the Forest Department for its lapses in forest management, implementation of forestry schemes and for the Department's failure to prevent encroachment of forest area. In its latest sixth report submitted to the Government, it has recommended the State Government to involve people in forest management. This has to be encouraged even by amending the relative Act, they have stated.
