Forest land encroachments to be regularised

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has decided to take the initiative under the Fifth Schedule of the Constitution to regularise encroachments on forest land till October 1980 in the absence of clearance by the Central Government to a proposal submitted earlier by the State Government in this regard.This decision, aimed to benefit more than one lakh tribal families, was taken at a Cabinet meeting presided over by the Chief Minister, Mr. Digvijay Singh, on Tuesday.
