To create better employment opportunities in remote rural pockets, the Dhalbhum forest division has decided to adopt 10 tribal villages in East Singhbhum as a part of the Integrated Village Farming Scheme launched by the government this fiscal.
For now, the plan would include two villages each from Mango, Chakulia, Musaboni, Ghatshila and Rakha Mines division. The Dalbhum divisional forest office would direct range officers to identify the probable villages on the basis of social and economic homogeneity and having not more than 100 households.
The divisional forest office confirmed that villages with a perennial water source would be preferred.
