Chhattisgarh government announced its new forest policy in which emphasis has been given to the expansion of green vegetation and converting the newly created state into a herbal state. Though the national policy recommends 33 per cent forest cover Chhattisgarh announced its new forest policy to further strengthen and expand the current forest cover of 44 per cent in the state.
