The funding pattern of the Integrated Forest Protection Scheme (IFPS) for the north-eastern region has been changed, with the region's State Governments raising hue and cry.Director General of Union Forest Department N.K. Joshi said here today that under the IFPC, cent per cent grant had been provided by the Union Environment and Forest Ministry till 2002-2003 for protection of forest, survey, building up infrastructure and modernization of forest protection machinery in the region. "From the current financial year, the funding pattern has, however, been changed at 75:25 ratio by the Centre and the concerned State,' he said.
