The valuable forest resources in the Assam-Nagaland border and the Numbor reserved forest under Golaghat district have been destroyed by the encroachers and the anti-social elements. The forest officials raided and evicted the encroachers in the Numbor forest area several times. But they could go scot-free due to political interference, it is reliably learnt.
