Remove small trees : The U.S. Forest Service wants to boost efforts to remove small trees and brush near western communities in response to wildfires raging this summer, agency officials said Tuesday. Trees 12 inches in diameter and smaller pose the greatest threat of fires in places like Flagstaff, Ariz., Missoula, Mont., and Santa Fe, N.M., officials said.
