The Chhattisgarh Government said that it is awaiting clearance from the Supreme Court to convert 425 forest villages into revenue villages to carry out development works in those villages. "We have already identified 51,853 people living on about 56,874.94-hectares encroached forest land. These people would be given permanent land records against their encroached landdddddd," the State Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Dr R C Sharma told.
