MP pvt owners can sell produce directly : The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to implement an ambitious scheme aimed at enhancing the production of timber and non timber forest produce by allowing owners of private forests to sell-off their produce and encouraging farmers to take up forestry as a commercial activity. The scheme , it is being claimed, would create millions of new jobs, boost government revenue and check illicit felling of trees. To begin with , the government has decided to implement the scheme, drawn up by a panel headed by a former state director-general of forests , in four districts.
