FRTI providing free research facilities to students

The Fisheries Research and Training Institute Manawan is providing free of cost research facilities to the students of Zoology Departments of various colleges and universities in the province. According to a departments spokesperson here on Thursday, Punjab Fisheries Director General Dr Muhammad Ayub while giving details in this regard said the students of Punjab University, Government College University, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore, Bahauddin Zakriya University Multan and Agriculture University Faisalabad are being provided research facilities. The Director General Fisheries further said the Fisheries Department is also providing free of cost technical assistance and advisory service to the private sector in setting up new fish farms. "Various development projects had been started in the current fiscal year to promote fisheries related activities. Fish melas are being conducted regularly in tehsils to disseminate modern fish farming technique to farmers. Officers and officials of the fisheries department are also being trained at Fisheries Research and Training Institute Manawan," he added.
